About The Position

Xcel Energy is seeking one or more Fleet Technicians to be located at our Hudson Service Center in Hudson, WI. This role involves inspecting, servicing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles, trailers, and power-operated equipment. The position requires a highly motivated, customer service-driven, detail-oriented, and quality-focused individual. Work may be performed primarily in company service garages as well as occasional job site field work. Selection criteria may include testing and/or assessment.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • A two year technical, vocational or trade school diploma in automotive, truck, and/or heavy equipment service repair and maintenance
  • Must be able to read/write and understand the English language
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematics
  • Must have basic computer literacy
  • Must be committed to working safely and compliance with all company safety rules
  • Must meet driver qualification requirements as specified in FMCSR parts 382 and 391 and obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A within 6 months
  • This position is subject to D.O.T. random drug and alcohol testing program
  • Must live within 20 miles of worksite or able to move within the next 6 months
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Must furnish standard and metric tools in accordance with the Fleet department's required tool list
  • Must maintain quality customer service, with a demonstrated commitment to working effectively
  • Must either currently have or be able to obtain a Minnesota annual vehicle inspectors certification

Responsibilities

  • Inspect service, repair and maintain vehicles, trailers and power operated equipment
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships in a team-oriented environment
  • Inspect, service, diagnose and make minor and major repairs to electrical, hydraulic, air conditioning, gasoline and diesel systems
