About The Position

Academy Air is seeking a highly organized and results-driven Fleet Supervisor to lead the management, maintenance, and performance of our growing fleet across the Greater St. Louis market. This role is responsible for ensuring fleet readiness, regulatory compliance, vehicle safety, and cost-efficient operations while supporting the daily transportation needs of the business. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with experience managing large fleets, strong operational and mechanical knowledge, and a commitment to safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of fleet management, transportation, logistics, or related operational leadership experience.
  • Experience overseeing large-scale fleets, preferably 100+ vehicles.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance programs, fleet operations, and asset management.
  • Working knowledge of telematics, GPS tracking, and fleet management software.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and fleet management systems.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Transportation, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM) certification or other relevant fleet credentials.
  • Experience with DOT compliance programs, vehicle safety initiatives, and regulatory reporting.
  • Experience managing service vendors and fleet-related contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operation and utilization of approximately 250 vehicles and fleet-related equipment.
  • Ensure vehicles are properly assigned, maintained, and available to support business operations.
  • Monitor fleet performance, productivity, and vehicle health through telematics and fleet management systems.
  • Analyze operational data and recommend improvements that enhance efficiency, reliability, and asset utilization.
  • Manage preventive maintenance programs to maximize vehicle uptime and extend asset life cycles.
  • Coordinate vehicle repairs, inspections, and warranty work with internal teams and third-party vendors.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including DOT and OSHA requirements.
  • Ensure all fleet records, registrations, inspections, and compliance documentation are accurate and up to date.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to drivers, technicians, and fleet personnel.
  • Conduct training, coaching, and performance management to drive accountability and professional growth.
  • Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Champion fleet safety initiatives and best practices across the organization.
  • Investigate vehicle accidents, incidents, and safety concerns and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Monitor driver performance and address safety compliance issues proactively.
  • Maintain accurate records related to inspections, accidents, and safety reporting.
  • Monitor fleet-related expenses, including fuel, maintenance, repairs, and vendor costs.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce operating expenses and improve fleet efficiency.
  • Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning for fleet assets.
  • Manage vehicle acquisition, replacement, disposal, and lifecycle planning.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with fleet service providers, leasing partners, and suppliers.
  • Ensure vendors meet service expectations, cost objectives, and company standards.
  • Manage inventory levels of fleet parts, tools, and equipment to support operational needs.
