About The Position

Parking and Transportation Services has consolidated Rental Fleet Vehicles, Maintenance and Repair Services and Vehicle Procurement teams into a unified Fleet Services management model to modernize the way we manage the life cycle of the university’s fleet of vehicles in a more strategic, cost effective and sustainable way. The current rental fleet consists of sedans, small and medium sized SUV's, minivans, 15 passenger vans as well as 4 wheel drive pickup trucks and SUV's. Additionally, we rent several types and sizes of electric golf carts for use on campus. The position of Vehicle Service Attendant will support the University's rental fleet by providing daily servicing of the rental vehicle fleet as well as performing visual inspections of the vehicles to ensure the functionality and safety of the University owned vehicles. This position includes a varied set of responsibilities, including the ability to fuel, wash and vacuum vehicles, notate and report mechanical and cosmetic issues with the vehicles. This position will also perform routine maintenance and upkeep of the car wash area and system and the vacuum bays and the areas used for additional cleaning of the vehicles. This position requires the individual to work outdoors for the majority of their time and will be exposed to the elements, such as heat, wind and rain. The working hours for this position are 6am to 2:30pm Monday through Friday. During peak business, occasional work on weekends may be necessary. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Requirements

High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with various types of automobiles preferred.
Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Refuel, clean, inspect, and prepare rental vehicles for customer use.
Fueling vehicles at on-site fuel pumps, operating vehicles through the automated car wash system, and performing interior cleaning in the vacuum/detail bay.
Interior cleaning tasks include vacuuming, window cleaning, and any additional detailing necessary to ensure vehicles meet department cleanliness standards.
Conduct routine vehicle inspections to identify and document any damage or maintenance concerns.
Inspections include checking the exterior for body or glass damage, visually examining tires for excessive wear or damage, verifying proper operation of lights, turn signals, and climate control systems, and ensuring vehicles are free of items left behind by previous rental customers.
Maintain vehicle readiness and safety standards to support a positive customer rental experience.
Providing support across the Motor Pool and Garage services areas.
Delivering vehicles to off-site repair facilities, driving to pick up parts for the Garage, performing maintenance and visual inspections of our remotely stationed Fleet rental vehicles located in the Sixth Street Parking Garage.
Performing basic preventative maintenance of our car wash system and vacuum system.
