About The Position

Trucking People is hiring Fleet Operations & Vehicle Readiness Technicians on behalf of our client, an industry leader in autonomous vehicle technology. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in fleet operations, automotive service, logistics, military vehicle operations, EVs, or technical support who enjoy working in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. You'll be responsible for ensuring autonomous vehicles are fully prepared, mission-ready, and operating safely before each testing and service shift.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of professional work experience
  • Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check
  • Ability to pass a drug screening (including marijuana)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working with computers and mobile devices
  • Safety-focused mindset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable standing, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing stairs, and working on your feet throughout the shift
  • Ability to travel occasionally (less than 30%)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicles for daily testing and operations
  • Coordinate vehicle movement between operating locations
  • Stage vehicles for deployment
  • Maintain organized fleet parking areas
  • Transport equipment and supplies as needed
  • Clean and detail vehicles inside and out
  • Charge electric vehicles and supporting equipment
  • Verify vehicle readiness before deployment
  • Complete required inspection checklists
  • Ensure vehicles meet operational and regulatory requirements
  • Launch software across multiple onboard devices
  • Verify hardware and software configurations
  • Install software updates when required
  • Capture requested operational data
  • Troubleshoot basic issues and escalate when necessary
  • Organize and maintain spare parts inventory
  • Assist with receiving and transporting parts
  • Keep equipment organized and ready for deployment
  • Support inventory accuracy and documentation
  • Assist experienced technicians with fluid changes, basic component replacements, wiring inspections, vehicle preparation, and general maintenance support
  • Provide operational assistance during testing by supporting documentation, pre-mission setup, traffic control, cone courses, vehicle driving, and vehicle recovery operations when required
