About The Position

Halter is seeking a motivated, high-performing Fleet Operations Technician to join their growing team in the USA. This role is crucial for overseeing the maintenance of Halter’s infrastructure across the country. The position requires versatility and adaptability, involving tasks such as repairing and upgrading infrastructure, delivering equipment, and providing on-site support during ranch deployments. The technician will be the primary point of contact for ensuring efficient and effective task completion, aiming for an unmatched customer experience. This role involves close collaboration with teams in the USA and Halter’s Auckland HQ, contributing to a collaborative and rewarding work environment. The company is experiencing significant momentum in the USA market and is looking for someone to help shape operations, build efficient systems, and tackle the challenges of scaling across a large country.

Requirements

  • Practical, hands-on experience with tools, electrical work, construction, networking, or equipment fitting is a must.
  • A proactive approach, with a willingness to tackle challenges head-on and figure things out on the go.
  • Practical skills and resourcefulness, with the ability to handle a wide range of tasks even without specific technical training.
  • Ability to manage your own time so that tasks are completed on schedule.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across different locations.
  • A dedication to providing the highest quality service, ensuring that Halter’s infrastructure is always operating at its best.
  • Spontaneous and planned travel will be part of this role. You might be 3 or 4 days on the road per week, and 3 nights away from home per week.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the upkeep and repair of Halter’s infrastructure to ensure seamless operations.
  • Diagnose any issues with our hardware and feed this information back to the relevant team.
  • Move smoothly between tasks, from repairing and upgrading infrastructure to delivering towers and collars as needed.
  • Provide critical on-site support during ranch deployments, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring successful installations.
  • Be part of the global on-call roster to support tower-related incidents and proactively find solutions in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with the team both in the USA and at Halter’s Auckland HQ to ensure alignment and successful customer outcomes.
  • Address and resolve technical challenges promptly and effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to ranch operations.
  • Be prepared to manage a variety of tasks, often simultaneously, to meet the dynamic needs of the role.
  • Collect, interpret, and analyze data from our hardware to optimize processes and inform decision-making.
  • Help develop and manage a maintenance system for the USA market.
  • Travel frequently to customers based across the USA.
