About The Position

Leidos is seeking a Technician & Vessel Operations Professional to execute cutting-edge engineering efforts within the Undersea Systems Division. This role is a unique opportunity to drive innovation in underwater vehicle systems, maritime sensors, subsea telemetry, and ISR solutions that support critical defense and national security missions. You'll work with a multidisciplinary team advancing maritime technologies, from prototype design to full-scale system deployment for ongoing Navy missions. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of prior related experience.
  • Strong technical aptitude, mechanical proficiency, sound maritime judgment, and the ability to work in dynamic environments
  • U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain a SECRET clearance
  • Demonstrated small-vessel operational experience in coastal or inland waters

Nice To Haves

  • Fiber Optic termination experience
  • Experience with UUVs, deployed subsea systems, and underwater payloads
  • Proven track record in product manufacturing and transitioning designs to production
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and quality-focused engineering processes
  • Experience working within diverse R&D through Lean Manufacturing facilities
  • USCG OUPV (Six-Pack) License or higher
  • Experience supporting marine electrical and mechanical systems
  • Safety-focused operational decision-making

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert assembly, troubleshooting, repair and modification of dynamic technology systems.
  • Support critical navy systems requiring complete reliability at time of use.
  • Advise to and build custom harnesses and circuitry for fixturing and deliverables.
  • Support system integration, maintenance, testing, and field operations locally and afar.
  • Provide hands-on electrical and mechanical assembly in a newly bult and growing facility.
  • Captaining of vessel operations in support of system deployment, testing, and operational activities.
