Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- For insurability purposes a valid driver's license is required.
- Two (2) years diesel mechanic experience required.
- Must have own tools.
Nice To Haves
- Vocational or technical school diploma or certification preferred.
- Ability to weld and fabricate preferred.
- Class A CDL with tanker strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform DOT Inspections on light and heavy duty over-the-road trucks and trailers
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on vehicles and equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, suspension, transmission, and brake troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Diagnose and repair vehicles and equipment.
- Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
- Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
- Examine parts for damage or excessive wear.
