About The Position

All Star Rents, a family-owned Equipment Rental business established in 1962 and operated by the 3rd generation of family members, is seeking a Heavy Equipment Fleet Mechanic for its West District. Our 13 locations provide sales and rentals of quality construction equipment, tools, and vehicles. This critical role involves using advanced mechanical skills and knowledge to repair and service our construction and landscaping equipment. This is a non-exempt (hourly) full-time position with shifts from Monday to Friday, regularly ending by 5:00 PM. The role includes frequent travel with a company vehicle.

Requirements

• 18 years or older
• Valid CA driver’s license with satisfactory record
• Valid proof of eligibility to work in the US
• Be able to lift 50lbs unaided
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical experience required- servicing equipment or vehicles and completing inspection and repairs.
• Advance Tool Set- necessary to complete repairs.
• Computer Literacy- Typing and understanding computers/technology and basic software
• A serious attitude towards safety in the workplace
• Satisfactory Background check
• Pass 4panel drug screening
• Choose a drug free lifestyle
• Be a team player with a positive attitude that likes to have fun at work

Nice To Haves

• Class A license a plus!
• Some mechanical aptitude and knowledge of construction equipment- Certifications a plus!
• Professional communication skills in English both written and verbal- Bilingual a plus!

Responsibilities

• Prioritizing and facilitating repairs for three branch locations
• Driving to multiple locations and job sites in the surrounding areas
• Servicing equipment or vehicles and completing quality control inspections
• Ordering parts
• Maintaining vendor and customer relationships
• Keeping safety top priority always
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Partnership with branch Mechanics to prioritize and facilitate repairs
• Attending and assisting with training as applicable
• Maintaining fleet vehicle to company standards

• Any tasks, processes, and procedures delegated by supervisor
• Maintain professional appearance as a representative of All Star Rents
