About The Position

Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to join our Albany, NY team. The Fleet Mechanic will support the maintenance and repair of a diverse fleet, including tractors, straight trucks, dry vans, tanker trailers, roll-off trailers, and light-duty vehicles (pickups and vans). This role is responsible for ensuring all equipment is safe, compliant, and operating efficiently through preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and timely repairs. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and capable of responding to both scheduled and emergency maintenance needs. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years of mechanic experience or equivalent mechanical/technical education.
  • Valid Class D driver’s license required.
  • Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • Air brake certification required (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Excel and data management.
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to engage effectively with employees and clients at all levels.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without future sponsorship.
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation.
  • Must consent to a Motor Vehicle Record screening, background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC).
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to work overtime and flexible hours (Monday through Friday).
  • Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and complete routine repairs on fleet vehicles.
  • Perform thorough external vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Execute tire services, including repair, replacement, and rotation.
  • Perform air brake inspections, adjustments, and repairs (certification required).
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair high-powered vacuum equipment.
  • Identify mechanical issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records.
  • Ensure adherence to all company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist the supervisor and operations team with additional maintenance-related tasks as needed.
