About The Position

Knife River is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing class 8 trucks and trailers, including hydraulic repair, brake work, electrical repairs, and welding. The position may involve performing service repairs in the field and working on a variety of units. The mechanic will also be responsible for completing all necessary paperwork and ensuring all safety policies and procedures are followed.

Requirements

• Previous mechanical experience on class 8 trucks and trailers.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Driver's license with clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check, physical/functional exam and drug screen.
• Must have own basic hand tools.

Nice To Haves

• Welding and fabrication experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain and repair class 8 trucks, trailers, including hydraulic repair, brake work, electrical repairs and welding.
• May perform service repairs in the field.
• May have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of units from small fleet vehicles, class 8 trucks and trailers.
• Complete all paperwork that may be necessary.
• Assure all safety policies and procedures are followed to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes and behaviors observed.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
