About The Position

Chinchor Electric, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and hardworking experienced Fleet Mechanic/Welder for our Orange City location. This position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining company vehicles, equipment, and trailers, as well as performing welding and fabrication work as needed. The ideal candidate will help ensure all fleet assets remain safe, reliable, and compliant with operational standards. We are a rapidly growing industrial and commercial electrical and signalization contractor with an extensive fleet. This is a unique opportunity to work for an established company with plenty of room to grow.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of mechanical experience
  • A minimum of 7 years of welding experience
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • Applicant must have computer literacy.
  • High level of integrity, able to work independently and with others.
  • Willingness to gain knowledge and experience through provided training, safe work practices and habits.
  • Must be able to make independent decisions.
  • 5+ years of mechanic experience
  • 7 years minimum of welding experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Personally maintained tools up to 1/2" drive

Nice To Haves

  • CDL A Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Chassis inspection, basic engine, transmission, brake, brake, tire, suspension service with high level understanding of 12V DC electrical
  • Emissions diagnosis and repair
  • Document all services and repairs performed.
  • Generate and complete work orders and with detail-oriented documentation daily.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
  • Conduct welding and fabrication work on equipment, frames, and components using MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques
