Fleet Mechanic Manager
About The Position
The Fleet Mechanic Manager is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the ISI fleet of trucks and tractor trailers, pull behind trailers, and weld generators; as well as overseeing the maintenance on all company owned PIT. This role is responsible for managing a team of mechanics, ensuring that all vehicles operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards. This position requires someone with strong organizational and time management skills - deadline and detail oriented. A successful candidate must have extensive experience as a mechanic with strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Requirements
- High School degree required
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience
- State inspection license; CDL preferred, not required
- Experience working on commercial trucks
- Must have your own tools
- Previous experience as a mechanic
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Deadline and detail-oriented

Responsibilities
- Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts
- Oversees and coordinates daily activities of mechanics; ensures compliance with federal, state and local vehicle regulations (DOT).
- Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures
- Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems such as: power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics
- Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems
- Maintains vehicle records for services and repairs
- Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with ISI / OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures
- Monitor spreadsheet of all company vehicles with updates to leadership team on behalf of mechanic team
