About The Position

The Fleet Manager will manage, coordinate, plan, initiate, implement and organize all fleet activities for the fleet department. Responsible for the planning, acquisition, assignment, inventory, maintenance, regulatory compliance and overall lifecycle process of all Company vehicles and equipment. This position is located in San Jose, CA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, or a related field and/or equivalent relevant experience. Additional qualifying experience, including advance certification in fleet management, can substitute for the required education on a year for year basis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to learn new tasks quickly.
  • Intermediate Excel skills with ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Flexible, detail oriented, and highly organized.
  • Valid California Driver License.
  • Knowledge of sources, suppliers and substitutions for vehicles and equipment.
  • Knowledge of fleet management best practices.
  • Knowledge of green vehicle fleet implementation/green vehicle industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead fleet-related capital projects to ensure budget adherence, timely close and proper documentation.
  • Manage the entire vehicle lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, strategy and eventual retirement/disposal.
  • Track capital expenditures and provide recommendations for fleet upgrades or replacements.
  • Support the development and execution of Fleet Electrification program.
  • Support the development and execution of fleet safety technology programs and other fleer related implementations.
  • Maintain an accurate, real-time database of all company assets.
  • Ensure all administrative DMV tasks (ex: Tite transfers, registrations, renewals) are properly completed.
  • Ensure that CWS vehicles are in compliance with state and federal laws, ordinances and rules.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external vendors, maintenance shops, fleet management company and districts.
  • Recommend and implement goals, objectives, and best practices for fleet management.
  • Quickly learn and master internal processes and workflow.
  • Identify issues and implement solutions to improve.
  • Review data on fleet metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyze and report on Fleet related data (ex: Fuel, maintenance, etc.)
  • Support the development and implementation of vehicle standards and use policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
