About The Position

This role is designed to bring fleet maintenance and warehouse operations in-house, reducing reliance on external mechanics for routine tasks. The technician will be responsible for keeping the fleet operational, performing preventive maintenance, addressing minor issues, and managing the warehouse and customer storage area. This is a hands-on position focused on everyday maintenance and operational efficiency, rather than certified mechanical repairs.

Requirements

A valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence and a clean driver's abstract.
Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance on trucks, trailers, or heavy equipment.
Ability to follow written checklists and service manuals precisely.
Computer proficiency for learning fleet management software and logging accurate records.
Ability to work independently, manage fleet and warehouse priorities, and stay within the defined scope of work.
Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
Willingness to obtain forklift certification within 30 days of hire (training provided and paid for).

Nice To Haves

Background in logistics, freight, transportation, or heavy equipment.
Experience with Samsara or a similar fleet management platform.
Existing forklift certification or Air Brake (Q) endorsement.
Warehouse or inventory experience, especially with fragile or high-value goods.
Experience maintaining equipment through Alberta winters.

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (A-Service) on the fleet, including fluids, filters, lighting, and tires, following a defined checklist.
Fix minor issues identified during pre-trip inspections, such as bulbs, wipers, fuses, and fluid top-ups.
Ensure the fleet is winter-ready by maintaining block heaters, batteries, and air systems.
Move units around the yard, shuttle trucks to and from the shop, and pick up/return rental equipment.
Operate a forklift to manage the warehouse floor, receive and release customer storage items, and maintain accurate inventory.
Keep the depot, dock, and yard clean, safe, and organized.
