About The Position

This role is designed to bring fleet maintenance and warehouse operations in-house at the Calgary depot. The technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, fixing minor issues on trucks, and managing the warehouse and customer storage area. The position focuses on preventive maintenance and minor repairs, rather than certified mechanic work, ensuring the fleet remains reliable and the warehouse operates efficiently. It's a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in their work and ensures vehicles are ready for daily use.

Requirements

A valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence and a clean driver's abstract.
Real hands-on experience with preventive maintenance on trucks, trailers, or heavy equipment.
Comfort following a written checklist and service manual exactly.
Proficiency with computers to learn fleet management software and log accurate records.
Ability to work independently, juggle fleet and warehouse priorities, and stay disciplined about what's in scope.
Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
Must obtain forklift certification within 30 days of hire (training provided and paid for by the company).

Nice To Haves

Background in logistics, freight, transportation, or heavy equipment.
Experience with Samsara or a similar fleet management platform.
Existing forklift certification or Air Brake (Q) endorsement.
Warehouse or inventory experience, especially with fragile or high-value goods.
Experience keeping equipment running through Alberta winters.

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (A-Service) on the Calgary fleet, including fluids, filters, lighting, and tires, following a defined checklist and standard.
Fix minor issues flagged by drivers on pre-trip inspections, such as bulbs, wipers, fuses, filters, and fluid top-ups.
Ensure the fleet is winter-ready by maintaining block heaters, batteries, and air systems.
Move units around the yard and shuttle trucks to and from the shop.
Pick up and return rental equipment.
Operate the forklift to manage the warehouse floor.
Receive and release customer storage items.
Maintain accurate and organized inventory.
Keep the depot, dock, and yard clean and safe.
