About The Position

MTM Transit is hiring a Class B Fleet Maintenance Technician to maintain its service vehicle fleet at its Tucson, Arizona location. The role includes servicing, diagnosing, repairing, and performing general maintenance on MTM Transit vehicles. Fleet maintenance staff help ensure vehicle safety, efficiency, and reliability, with company-provided training and an ASE certification bonus program. The position is located at 829 West Silverlake Road, Tucson, AZ 85713. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Pay is $28.00–$29.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Must have and maintain a valid Arizona CDL with passenger endorsement.
No reckless-driving offenses within the past five years.
No convictions involving moral turpitude within the past five years.
No DUI or DWI convictions.
Valid authorization to work in the United States.
Ability to pass a DOT physical, pre-employment drug screening, criminal background check and investigation, and Motor Vehicle Record check.
Possess AC609 certification or be able to obtain it.
Experience using hand and power tools, machinery, and sophisticated automotive repair test and diagnostic equipment.
Possess proper hand tools or be willing to obtain them; MTM supplies diagnostic, heavy, and specialty equipment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Good organizational skills, with attention to timeliness and detail.
Computer proficiency sufficient to complete electronic repair work orders correctly.
Demonstrate a commitment to safety by following safety and health procedures.
Ability to attend safety and vehicle repair courses as required.
Willingness to adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Regular attendance is required.

Nice To Haves

ASE certifications preferred for a Level B mechanic.

Responsibilities

Maintain, service, diagnose, and repair MTM Transit service vehicles.
Perform general maintenance and repairs on MTM Transit facilities and grounds.
Repair automotive vehicles and light-duty trucks, including powertrains, undercarriages and chassis, electronic and electrical equipment, air conditioning and heating systems, vehicle accessories, and drivability issues.
Assist with shop and facility maintenance, including servicing vehicle lifts, pumps, and similar equipment.
Complete electronic work orders accurately.
Perform additional duties as assigned or required.
