About The Position

Dynalectric Company San Diego is hiring for a Fleet Maintenance Technician. Under the supervision of the Fleet Manager, the position will be responsible for performing fleet inspections, basic & preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting and diagnostics. Other responsibilities include shuttling, fueling & vehicle upfitting. The individual will collaborate with other warehouse personnel, company management, and outside vendors to ensure each aspect of the job is performed efficiently and thoroughly.

Requirements

  • Required to enroll with the union
  • Able to pass drug screen
  • Able to learn and operate company’s tools and handling material
  • One year on-the-job experience in automotive repair industry
  • One year automotive classes or technical school, or equivalent
  • Mandatory clean driving record
  • Strong mechanical understanding of vehicle maintenance operations and OBD2 systems
  • Must demonstrate integrity, honesty, professionalism and commitment to company values
  • Must have ability to build positive working relationships with multiple levels of employees, management, customers and partners and to influence employees in a positive and honest manner
  • Must be safety- and detail-oriented
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of customer, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors and suppliers, and other contractor organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic routine inspections and diagnostic, i.e., brake inspections, tire inspections, fluid level checks, electrical testing, engine diagnostic scanning,
  • Performs basic maintenance operations, i.e., oil changes, 100k mile service, brake repairs, electrical repairs, battery replacements, tune-ups, and transmission services
  • Ability to diagnose and repair small gasoline engines, i.e., generators, compressors, and forklifts.
  • Shuttle vehicles to and from outside repair shops
  • Shuttle vehicles to and from their assigned drivers when required
  • Building and upfitting of new fleet vehicles, including tool boxes, inverters, and alarm systems
  • Accurate installation and removal of vehicle logos and decals
  • Prep vehicle for turnover or reassignment
  • Track and report parts used, maintain required inventory of stocked parts
  • Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition
  • Assist workers in unloading and loading truck when required
  • Maintains inventory records
  • Must be able to work a 40 hour work week, with occasional overtime
  • Follows all traffic laws, is courteous to other drivers, and understands the importance of representing the company and providing a positive image of the company.
  • Regular attendance is required.
