About The Position
Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is looking for a skilled Fleet Maintenance Technician. A Fleet Maintenance Technician diagnoses, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance on a variety of vehicles and equipment, ensuring safety and operational readiness through tasks like engine tune-ups, brake/tire services, electrical/hydraulic system fixes, welding, and detailed record-keeping, often specializing in diesel or gasoline engines and requiring strong mechanical aptitude.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, often with vocational training in automotive or diesel technology.
- Experience with automotive/diesel repair, strong mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license
Nice To Haves
- ASE certifications are often preferred.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and fix mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, and HVAC systems.
- Conduct regular inspections, oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and tune-ups to prevent breakdowns.
- Perform welding, fabrication, AC servicing, and electrical system repairs.
- Create and maintain detailed work orders, repair logs, parts usage, and maintenance schedules.
- Ensure all vehicles meet safety standards, perform road tests, and adhere to shop safety protocols.
- Respond to service calls to perform on-site repairs.
- Perform engine overhauls, brake service, clutch replacement, steering/suspension work, and fuel system repairs.
- Diagnose and repair wiring, starters, generators, and computer-controlled systems.
- Mount, balance, and repair tires on various equipment.
- Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
