Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Heavy Truck and Diesel (required)
  • Five Years of fleet maintenance experience
  • CDL A License
  • Two years of supervisory/management experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization, prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
  • Good leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, conflict management and business acumen skills.
  • Ability to work across business units.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics (preferred)
  • Following Certification/licenses preferred: Federal 608, Federal 609, Fed Qual Brake Inspections, and Heavy Truck and Diesel.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure corrective maintenance and repairs are performed to documented compliance standards, efficiently, safe and in a timely manner on all transportation and building maintenance equipment.
  • Monitors and inspects work environment to ensure housekeeping and safety expectations are maintained.
  • Meet with various vendors of equipment, supplies and service, establish working business relations as necessary and make arrangements with outside vendors to handle special maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Assist supervisor with development of equipment specifications, investigating and making approved equipment or software solution purchases.
  • Provide technical recommendations for projects.
  • Administer the labor contract during daily operations, document associate activities according to procedure and participate as required in the associate discipline process.
  • Assist supervisor with union grievances, driver and contract issues.
  • Ensure daily and weekly reports are complete and accurate, and are communicated to appropriate departments within timely manner.
  • Includes parts inventory audits, fuel audits, etc.
  • Monitor department KPI metrics, making appropriate adjustments and/or recommendations to ensure financial goals are met.
  • Monitor and work with supervisor and safety compliance manager on DOT compliance issues (i.e. DOT physical recertification's, driver license renewals, random drug screenings, issuing proper paperwork to mechanics in a timely manner to ensure compliance).
  • Assist, as necessary, supervisor and safety compliance manager with arranging mechanic safety meetings to ensure and enforce maintenance compliance issues.
  • Includes any on-the-job injury investigations which require reporting, prevention and/or disciplinary action necessary.
  • Responsible for department management including staffing, training, performance management and career development of associates, and developing and monitoring department goals.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
