About The Position

The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor at Ditch Witch is a pivotal role expected to steer operations towards excellence. This position is responsible for overseeing a range of critical functions, ensuring strict adherence to safety, regulatory, and quality standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The role demands a leader who can effectively manage people and processes, drive team performance and business results through inspirational leadership and effective communication. The supervisor will manage daily work assignments and schedules to meet productivity and drive business results, monitor production activity, identify process issues, troubleshoot causes, and develop solutions. They will work closely with site leadership and other supervisors to establish clear processes aligned with business objectives and ensure adherence to TTC standards, procedures, policies, government regulations, quality, and compliance. Prioritizing safety protocols and encouraging a proactive mindset towards safety in daily operations and decision-making is crucial. The supervisor will communicate clear expectations, goals, and accomplishments to the team, tying efforts to TTC quality standards, safety protocols, and government regulations. They will support quality and continuous improvement initiatives, promote a culture of trust and accountability, and engage and support team members' development and collaboration.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Basic understanding of the supervisory principles to include problem solving and conflict resolution.
  • Effective verbal and written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety protocols and regulations.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • Ability to meet required goals and adapt to changing demands in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience in supervisory or team lead role a plus.
  • Proficient software application skills; preferred Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, Workday.
  • Experience in process improvement; LEAN or continuous improvement certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily work assignments and schedules to meet productivity and drive business results.
  • Monitor production activity, identify process issues, troubleshoot causes, and develop short-term and long-term solutions as merited.
  • Work closely with site leadership and other supervisors to establish clear processes in alignment with business objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to TTC standards, procedures, policies, and government regulations, quality, and compliance.
  • Prioritize adherence to safety protocols encouraging a proactive mindset towards safety in daily operations and decision-making.
  • Communicate clear expectations, goals, and accomplishments to the team, tying efforts to TTC quality standards, safety protocols, and government regulations.
  • Support quality and continuous improvement initiatives by advocating for and implementing improvements merited with the team.
  • Promote a culture of trust and accountability by demonstrating honesty, integrity, clear communications and ethical behaviors.
  • Engage and support team members' development and collaboration toward common goals, while taking ownership of team performance to drive business success.
  • Oversee all things related to Fleet, including cars, trucks, semis, dump trucks, forklifts, tuggers, tractors and whizbangs.
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct all PM (preventive maintenance) and repairs for all equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to all OSHA, DOT, ODOT and any other federal, state, or local standards.
  • Maintain precise records, and detailed documentation of repairs, purchases, and any other required communications.
  • Direct all efforts on maintaining inventory for parts, fuel, and other supplies to support maximum uptime.
  • Communicate with, lead, train, and mentor Fleet personnel.
  • Possess strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical problems.
