Fleet Maintenance Area Shop Supervisor
About The Position
Carew Concrete & Supply Co., Inc. is seeking a Diesel Fleet Mechanic Supervisor to join our team at our Fond Du Lac facility! This position is year round, full-time and will be responsible for safely and efficiently performing a wide range of needed major or minor, routine repairs and maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment. The Fleet Mechanic Supervisor will ensure that all company equipment is mechanically maintained to the highest safety standards. The target number of vehicles kept mechanically available for service by following fleet maintenance best practices, including having a structured preventive maintenance program. Maintenance costs are controlled through efficient labor scheduling and effective purchasing practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Valid Class D Driver’s license required
- Ability to drive both standard and automatic transmission trucks
- Knowledge of repair on components of heavy trucks and equipment; suspension, hydraulics, drivelines, electrical systems, brakes, and engines
- Ability to use effective written and/or oral communication skills
- Ability to learn new technologies and keep up to date with current standards
Nice To Haves
- CDL – class B minimum preferred
- Ability to drive heavy trucks, operate forklifts and end-loaders preferred
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in heavy truck repair maintenance preferred
- Welding experience preferred
