We are seeking an experienced mechanic to perform service and repair work on equipment supporting both Tank Cleaning and Emissions Control operations at our Deer Park facility. This role will focus on improving equipment reliability, implementing preventative maintenance programs, and ensuring equipment is ready to support field execution. The USA DeBusk Tank Cleaning and Emissions Control Branches are looking for 1 mechanic to perform repairs on equipment to pass DOT/FMCSA inspections. Experience with some of the above-mentioned equipment will be very helpful.

Requirements

  • Experience working on vacuum trucks, trailers, pumps or industrial service equipment.
  • Working knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics.
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation, a valid license, with a clean record.
  • Must be able to pass a random drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE, OEM or related technical preferred.
  • CDL Class A & B is highly preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive PMs on all our equipment including oil changes, filter replacement and lubrication.
  • Completing repair orders / work orders.
  • Maintain maintenance records.
  • Diagnose and repair issues across mechanical, electrical (12V/24V), hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Utilize diagnostic software and tools to troubleshoot Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit diesel engines.
  • Maintain working knowledge of and ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
  • Support DOT annual inspections / FMCSA readiness
  • Inspect, repair and maintain drivetrains components, including transmissions, transfer cases and differentials.
  • Troubleshoot and repair air and hydraulic brake systems, including valves and related components.
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, including PTOs, pumps, hoses, and DCVs
  • Ensure all equipment is safe, compliant, and job ready prior to deployment.
  • Perform light welding, torch cutting, and minor fabrication repairs as needed.
  • Ensure all equipment meets pressure ratings, hose integrity, and connection standards before release to operations.
  • Participate in safety meetings, JSAs, and incident reviews.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and intervene when unsafe conditions exist.
  • Communicate clearly on equipment status, repair timelines, and parts needs.
  • Identify and report recurring failures to improve reliability.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
  • Lead by example by demonstrating professionalism, initiative and a strong work ethic.
  • Maintain a team first mindset with a willingness to take on both large and small tasks as needed.
