Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in fleet management and DOT/FMCSA compliance within a distribution, transportation, or warehouse environment.
  • Working knowledge of preventive maintenance systems, vendor management, and budget/cost controls.
  • Knowledge of core workplace safety requirements and best practices; ability to conduct investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Practical knowledge of FMCSA requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to drive company vehicles as needed.
  • Ability to lift up-to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform facility walkthroughs (standing, climbing stairs/ladders as required for inspection).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with a fleet of 100+ power units/trailers preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage preventive maintenance, coordinate inspections, repairs, and replacements for the fleet.
  • Ensure DOT annual inspections and vehicle/trailer readiness.
  • Administer fleet programs and records.
  • Own DOT/FMCSA fleet compliance documentation and audit readiness; ensure DVIR processes are followed and defects corrected.
  • Manage fleet vendors.
  • Monitor fleet cost and utilization.
  • Lead crash/incident response and records for the fleet.
  • Oversee maintenance, repair, and safe operation of buildings/grounds and core systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety).
  • Create and track preventive maintenance and work orders for facilities; prioritize repairs by safety, operational impact, and cost.
  • Manage facility vendors/contractors.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections to identify hazards, code issues, and improvements.
  • Support space planning, moves, and minor facility projects.
  • Coordinate site access and basic security (keys/badges) with leadership/IT/security.
  • Support emergency preparedness for facilities.
  • Administer the company safety program.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through training, coaching, and site engagement.
  • Develop, update, and enforce safety policies/procedures (hazcom, PPE, LOTO, PIT, fall protection, incident reporting).
  • Lead incident and near-miss investigations; perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Coordinate required safety training and maintain records.
  • Lead OSHA and DOT/FMCSA compliance, recordkeeping, and audit preparation/response.
  • Other duties and projects may be assigned.
