About The Position

With acute attention to detail, the Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing company vehicles, trailers, and traffic control equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. This role supports daily field operations by keeping all equipment in proper working condition and compliant with safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • ASE or ASE Master Technician preferred.
  • Certification related to the following manufacturers and equipment is preferred: Caterpillar, Chevrolet, Ford, Freightliner, Hino, Isuzu, Kohler, Kubota, and/or Peterbilt.
  • Minimum of 5 years of mechanic experience (diesel, automotive, and/or heavy equipment preferred).
  • Must provide own tools.
  • Valid Nevada driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to diagnose issues efficiently.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand instructions in English.
  • Basic computer and handheld device proficiency.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on company vehicles, including trucks, vans, UTVs, and trailers.
  • Service traffic control equipment such as arrow boards, message boards, light towers, and generators.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Follow established schedules and procedures for preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Identify and document damaged or worn parts; order and install replacements as needed.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and unexpected breakdowns.
  • Complete repairs efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
  • Keep shop areas clean, organized, and properly stocked.
  • Coordinate with management to prioritize maintenance needs.
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment.
  • Collaborate across departments to support operations.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Attend required meetings and training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
