Working collaboratively across City departments, the Fleet Director develops innovative, cost-effective solutions that maximize fleet performance, improve operational efficiency, and support the City's commitment to exceptional public service. The Fleet Director leads a team of dedicated professionals, oversees multimillion-dollar operating and capital budgets, leverages data and emerging technologies to drive informed decision-making, and builds long-term strategies that prepare the City's fleet for the future. Whether supporting emergency response, maintaining essential public services, or advancing sustainability initiatives, the Fleet Director plays a critical role in ensuring City employees have the vehicles and equipment they need to safely and effectively serve residents. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution in Business or Public Administration or a related field.
  • Six years' experience in fleet management, which includes five years of managerial experience.
  • Must possess and maintain throughout tenure of position, a recognized Fleet professional certification such as Certified Automotive Fleet Manager or Certified Public Fleet Professional at time of hire or promotion.
  • Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
