Requirements

  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including overnights, weekends, OT if available
  • Comfort working outdoors year‑round near water and heavy equipment
  • Able to lift heavy materials and work on uneven surfaces
  • Safety‑focused and team‑oriented
  • Prolonged periods of kneeling, bending and climbing stairs/ladders
  • Ability to work near or on large bodies of water, at various heights and in confined spaces
  • Reading and writing skills at a basic functional level to perform essential job functions
  • Ability to pass DOT drug screening
  • Must obtain and maintain a TWIC card
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all pre-employment requirements, including a background screening, physical examination, drug testing, and applicable DOT medical certification requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Marine or deckhand experience preferred (not required). Entry level welcome!

Responsibilities

  • Build tow and handle rigging during operations
  • Prepare barges for customer delivery (securing lines/covers, inspections)
  • Support maintenance, cleaning, and barge prep crews
  • Perform general housekeeping: washing, scraping, painting, sweeping
  • Follow all safety rules and report hazards or incidents
  • Help complete vessel and safety documentation
  • Work as part of a small crew to keep fleet operations moving safely
