About The Position

The Fleet Coordinator, Trucking supports the Manager, Trucking in the day-to-day execution of Source’s trucking operations. This role focuses on operational oversight, driver leadership, safety performance, compliance, and service delivery. Working closely with Dispatch, Drivers, HSE, and Maintenance, the Assistant Manager helps ensure best-in-class service, safe operations, and effective utilization of trucking assets. This is a hands-on leadership role designed to strengthen operational execution while developing future management capacity within the trucking division.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in a trucking or logistics environment.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or lead role managing drivers or operational teams.
  • Solid understanding of trucking regulations, HOS requirements, and safety standards.
  • Strong ability to work effectively with dispatch, maintenance, HSE, and field operations.
  • Experience managing and supporting large transportation fleets consisting of 50–100+ trucks in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Experience with Samsara or similar GPS/fleet monitoring systems, including reporting, video retrieval, Hours of Service (HOS) monitoring, driver violation tracking, daily trip reporting, and fuel monitoring.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, with experience preparing operational and fuel reports, revenue tracking, and scheduling for drivers and maintenance activities.
  • Comfortable working with multiple software platforms and external operational systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including professional use of email, Word, PDF, and reporting tools.
  • Experience with incident reporting, accident investigations, and conflict resolution within a transportation or logistics environment.
  • Hardworking attitude.
  • Working knowledge of tools and mechanics.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable to change.

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary education in logistics, business, or a related field is an asset but not required.
  • Proven ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work with operational data and reports.
  • Experience supporting audits, compliance reviews, or safety programs.
  • Background in oil & gas, logistics, or related service industries preferred.
  • Previous business experience managing operations involving revenue and costs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day trucking operations, including Dispatch and Drivers, to ensure consistent execution of safe, reliable, and high-quality service.
  • Support the Manager, Trucking in implementing operational plans and meeting performance targets.
  • Monitor fleet utilization to help ensure operational efficiency goals are achieved.
  • Assist with identifying operational issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Support management of the Truck Driver team, including scheduling, days off, and coverage planning.
  • Reinforce safe and compliant driving behaviors through regular field engagement and communication.
  • Assist in the hiring of new drivers, including interviews, onboarding coordination, and road/test drive assessments.
  • Promote professionalism, accountability, and a strong customer service mindset across the driver group.
  • Work closely with dedicated Trucking HSE and leadership teams to promote and sustain a strong safety culture.
  • Support compliance with all regulatory requirements related to drivers, equipment, and hours of service.
  • Assist with preparation and participation in audits (e.g., NSC, HOS, carrier-related reviews).
  • Reinforce adherence to company policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Work collaboratively with the Maintenance Manager to support execution of the trucking maintenance program.
  • Help ensure drivers complete required inspections and report equipment issues promptly.
  • Assist in tracking maintenance KPIs and identifying trends impacting reliability or compliance.
  • Support the identification, development, and implementation of best practices and standard operating procedures for trucking operations.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives aimed at efficiency, reliability, and service quality.
  • Participate in projects and initiatives as assigned by the Manager, Trucking.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Provide day-to-day front-line leadership by engaging and supporting drivers and dispatch personnel.
  • Model and reinforce Source’s values, safety expectations, and customer service standards.
  • Support alignment of the team with operational and performance goals set by the Manager, Trucking.
