The Fleet Coordinator as SDI Services plays a crucial role in overseeing the efficient transportation and Heavy Equipment and Vehicles management for the organization; manages the daily operations, maintenance schedules, and compliance of a company’s vehicle fleet to ensure safety, efficiency, and minimal downtime. This position requires a strategic thinker who can optimize supply chain operations, manage a fleet of vehicles, and ensure timely delivery of products to customers. The role involves a combination of logistics management, and fleet maintenance to meet operational goals and maintain cost-effectiveness. This role is based full-time in our office in Sacramento, CA with required travel to job sites as needed. Specific location details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process.

Requirements

  • H.S Diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years’ experience in Logistics, Transportation Management, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, and transportation principles.
  • Comprehensive understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance related to transportation and fleet management.
  • Proficiency in using transportation management software and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage a team effectively.
  • 5 plus years of experience in transportation compliance.
  • Expertise and extensive knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
  • Monitoring GPS locations and routes of drivers.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Basic computer skills with proficiency and working knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability and desire to travel when required.

  • Certification in Fleet Management or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and managing equipment, inventory, and job requirements for multiple projects
  • Day to Day operation, scheduling and parts and material purchasing
  • Shipping and receiving of on-site and off-site equipment, materials, and parts.
  • Help implement an Inventory Management System
  • Help create, develop and implement inventory policies and procedures
  • Regularly maintain the inventory management systems ensuring accuracy and rectifying any discrepancies.
  • Coordinates and tracks all shipping and receiving equipment.
  • Loads and unloads machines.
  • Prepares needed paperwork and performs inspections on all incoming and outgoing equipment.
  • Documents of any issues found during pre & post-inspections and communicate problems to appropriate personnel.
  • Organizes and inventories equipment and parts.
  • Assists department leads in locating equipment.
  • Back up for schedule service with equipment service companies
  • Communicating with SDI Services teams and vendors to keep shop deliverables aligned with their goals.
  • Optimize supply chain operations, coordinate a fleet or vehicles and heavy equipment and ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
  • Fleet maintenance and personnel supervision to meet operational goals and maintain cost-effectiveness.
  • Acts as liaison between the company, subcontractors, suppliers.
  • Effectively evaluate, monitor, analyze and identify all driver performance issues and resolve them in a timely manner
  • Conduct daily audits of drivers to ensure compliance and productivity through a fleet management and tracking software system
  • Reviews reporting of all vehicles, passenger, and employee accidents/incidents for determination of cause and preventability and identifying potential trends
  • Maintain roadside inspections and citations including over-weight, traffic violations, etc.
  • Review Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR) daily.
  • Track regular safety training topics and meetings.
  • Acts as the liaison between clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, fostering effective communication.
  • Fleet tracking for commercial vehicles
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize the supply chain.
  • Ensure vehicle maintenance and safety standards are met.
  • Monitor and analyze fleet performance data.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners for efficient transportation.
  • Vehicle inspections & DOT/FMCSA Compliance.
  • Tracking Equipment.
  • Coordinate solar equipment maintenance.
