About The Position
The Fleet Coordinator provides day-to-day support to the Dispatch team by maintaining load visibility, communicating with drivers, updating operational systems, and assisting with the execution of the daily dispatch plan. This entry-level position serves as a key communication link between drivers, dispatchers, customer service, and terminal operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, and eager to learn transportation and logistics operations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of one year of work experience in a customer-facing, service-oriented, or logistics environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, transportation, logistics, or operations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for drivers requiring basic operational support and troubleshooting assistance.
- Escalate equipment, safety, service, or operational issues to the appropriate Dispatcher or Terminal Leadership team when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and timely load status updates within the Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Monitor equipment inventory, availability, and release status to ensure visibility for dispatch planning.
- Communicate dispatch plan updates, schedule changes, and load information to drivers.
- Provide load status updates to Customer Service, Scheduling, Planning, and other internal stakeholders.
- Compile and distribute operational reports and performance metrics for management review.
- Assist in tracking service performance, load completion, and operational exceptions.
- Support dispatchers in managing daily fleet activity and workload prioritization.
- Promote and reinforce current company safety initiatives and safety topics with drivers and team members.
- Maintain professional communication with drivers, customers, vendors, and internal departments.
- Support terminal operations and perform additional duties as assigned.
