About The Position

As the Fleet Coordinator - Matting, you will support the Fleet Manager, Operations, and Project Management teams by managing and tracking company equipment. Key responsibilities include coordinating equipment deliveries, maintenance schedules, repair work, and rental execution. This involves record keeping, cost analysis, compliance with safety and DOT regulations, and assisting with budget development. You will play a vital role in optimizing fleet operations and minimizing costs while ensuring equipment is available and maintained for project needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 1-3 years’ work experience with equipment management or similar profession
  • Exceptional fleet management abilities, time management and scheduling efficiencies
  • Skilled in organizing and coordinating fleet related items
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, to prioritize and work in a multi-tasked environment
  • Knowledge of methods, materials, construction equipment, and safety hazards of construction projects
  • Organized and able to handle multiple tasks
  • Strong communication skills (verbal/written)
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships

Responsibilities

  • Support the equipment fleet from equipment tracking, contract negotiations, fleet purchase order management, rental fleet execution, and execution for delivery of equipment to project locations.
  • Support and track repair and maintenance schedules for the New South Fleet.
  • Coordinate shop and field repair work with internal and external staff as directed.
  • Develop and provide recommendations to the Equipment Fleet Director based upon fleet usage, maintenance, and cost.
  • Establish compliance with all safety, environmental, and DOT policies and procedures as it relates to fleet.
  • Support the development of the equipment Capex budget.
  • Record keeping and equipment reporting (utilization, services, repairs, etc.)
  • Cost minimization (research & compare prices for equipment rentals)
  • Perform complete inspections of all fleet as required.
  • Assist Safety and DOT Director in managing electronic logbooks for vehicles in accordance with DOT regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
