Flatbed Tow Operator
About The Position
Flatbed Tow Truck Operator is a key position to the success of our company as someone who provides great customer service to our customers. A Tow Truck Driver is in charge of driving to areas where a vehicle accident or breakdown took place, connecting the vehicle to the tow truck, and transporting them to repair stations or particular places. Their responsibilities include communicating with clients to identify their needs, answering inquiries, providing assistance by performing minor repairs, changing tires or jump-starting cars, and recommending solutions when necessary. Furthermore, as a tow truck driver, it is essential to perform regular maintenance checks on towing trucks for a safe and efficient service.
Requirements
- 21 Years of Age or older
- 2+ years of Towing
- Working knowledge of a tow truck and duties
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum 2 years of Towing experience
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
- Clean Drivers License and towing endorsement preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide towing & emergency roadside assistance.
- Wheel Lift knowledge.
- Abide by all traffic safety laws.
- Maintain professional appearance and demeanor wearing company provided uniforms.
- Represent the company in a professional manner.
- Good communication skills to interact with customers.
- Maintain all truck equipment including trucks appearance on a daily basis as well as initial vehicle inspections.
- Must possess a knowledge of maps and or navigation.
- Needs basic knowledge of cars and automotive parts.
- Many tow truck drivers will perform small repairs on the scene of a breakdown such as changing tires, reconnecting parts, or jumpstarting the car.
- The driver will also have to write up reports of services rendered and accept payments.
