Requirements

  • Valid CDL (Class A) with a clean driving record.
  • Must have FLAT-BED trailer experience
  • Must be able to drive a Manuel Transmission
  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial driving experience.
  • Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and safety procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials.
  • Ability to strap own load
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate commercial trucks in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations. You may be assigned to drive a roll-off truck, tractor-trailers, flat-beds, and/or lugger trucks as assigned. May haul loads up to 70' long. Overhang experience helpful.
  • Load and secure scrap metal materials onto the truck, ensuring proper weight distribution and safe transportation.
  • Plan and follow designated delivery routes, considering traffic conditions, road closures, and the most efficient paths to minimize travel time.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on the vehicle, reporting any issues promptly to the maintenance department.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Complete all necessary paperwork, such as delivery logs, bills of lading, and other documentation required for the delivery and receipt of scrap metal materials.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers and clients during pickups and deliveries.
  • Handle materials in an environmentally responsible manner, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Maintain effective communication with dispatch and operations teams to ensure the efficient execution of deliveries and pickups.
