About The Position

We are seeking a Flash Grinder to work in our Monroe, NC facility. In this position you are responsible for performing a variety of precision surface grinding operations using flash grinders. This role is a crucial part in the finishing process, as you will ensure the bars have a quality finish. A successful candidate will be self-motivated and show attention to detail.

Requirements

High School Diploma / GED
Basic computer skills
Basic math skills
Ability to read a tape measure and other measuring devices

Nice To Haves

One (1) year of manufacturing experience is preferred

Responsibilities

Use frame grinders to remove excess flash and defects such as laps, seams, pits, and cracks as identified by the operator.
Load and unload machine physically or by using an inside crane.
Use frame grinders for grinding oversized bars to meet size specifications.
Check materials for dimensional accuracy by using templates, drawings, or micrometers.
Measure bars to determine where sample is to be cut for check with template.
Visually inspect materials for surface defects and mark for cut-off operations.
Exercise identity by heat number, order number, or other identifying coding.
Detect and report damaged material and improper operations. Refer questionable matters to proper supervision.
Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
Follow prescribed safety regulations.
