About The Position

i9 Sports Greater Phoenix is hiring an energetic, personable, and hardworking Flag Football Instructor/Official to help fulfill its goal of helping kids succeed in life through sports. The role focuses on teaching football fundamentals and the game in an enjoyable way while creating a safe, fun environment for participants ages 3–14.

The instructor creates and facilitates weekly practice plans, organizes and runs practices and games, and officiates games. The position is needed on Saturdays and/or Sundays during the Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer seasons, for up to 4–6 hours depending on registration and location. Compensation is based on experience. This is a part-time position.

Requirements

• Must be reliable, professional, and responsive.
• Must be outgoing, friendly, energetic, and enthusiastic.
• Must be warm, empathetic, patient, and consistent.
• Must have in-depth knowledge of football and at least one year of coaching experience.
• Must have superior customer service skills.
• Must have reliable transportation, a cell phone, and web/email access.
• Must pass a background check.
• Must be willing to work in Glendale, North Phoenix, North Scottsdale, Ahwatukee, Paradise Valley, Laveen, or Avondale.
• Must have experience working with kids.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setting up and taking down fields at the venue, including laying out cones and setting up the field.
• Organize, plan, and run practices and games for a specific team and/or group of players.
• Communicate weekly with volunteer coaches, participants, and league owners.
• Assist with officiating and coaching games.
• Teach skills and sportsmanship values while ensuring a fun program for participants.
• Work with Assistant Coaches on drills.
• Create and facilitate weekly practice plans.
