This position is responsible for ensuring safe on-road operations while maintaining on-time performance. The driver will be familiar with assigned routing and detours, and aware of ADA Policies and Procedures, ensuring ADA compliance. They will be responsible for the proper operation of all wheelchair lifts, collecting prescribed fares, and notifying dispatch of any refusal to pay or fare evasion. The driver will also provide information to passengers, welcome and help passengers, and effectively communicate with them, especially during service disruptions. Additionally, they will perform pre and post-trip inspections, enter defects into the ZONAR system, follow exact deadhead routing and assigned revenue service routes, and depart on-time. Reporting of any bunching of buses, other service disruptions, vehicular accidents, or passenger incidents is required immediately to dispatch, following incident and accident reporting procedures.
