About The Position

Arch Materials, a Rogers Group, Inc. underground limestone mine/quarry in Batavia, Ohio, is seeking a Maintenance Technician for its night-shift operation. The role maintains stationary plant equipment and supports safe, efficient operations. Starting pay for entry-level night-shift candidates is $25 per hour, consisting of $23 per hour base pay plus a $2 per hour shift differential; pay is determined by experience, and experienced candidates are preferred.

The successful candidate emphasizes safety, works independently, and collaborates with production personnel to reduce downtime. The position includes routine equipment inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs, welding and fabrication, assisting with installation and setup, recordkeeping, and operating mobile equipment as needed. The role also requires following safety, lockout/tagout, and environmental rules and participating in daily safety meetings.

Requirements

• Dedication to safe work practices.
• Previous maintenance experience.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose and perform plant repairs as needed.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds regularly, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods throughout the workday, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Willingness to work a regular night shift.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on stationary crushing, screening, and conveying equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues with crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps, and other plant systems.
• Replace or repair bearings, belts, pulleys, motors, gearboxes, liners, and other plant components as needed.
• Conduct welding, cutting, and fabrication to repair or modify equipment and structures.
• Assist with equipment installation, alignment, and setup of new plant components.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and service records.
• Work with production personnel to minimize downtime and ensure safe, efficient plant operations.
• Operate mobile equipment, such as forklifts, skid steers, and manlifts, as needed for maintenance tasks.
• Follow company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and environmental regulations.
• Participate in daily safety meetings and promptly communicate equipment issues to supervisors.
