Requirements

  • Strong communication skills characterized by excellent writing and speaking skills.
  • Proficient with general office machines and programs to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other software that might be utilized in the department.
  • Ability to use the computer efficiently and the capacity to learn new software programs as they are rolled out by the Bank.
  • Good knowledge of business English, including spelling and punctuation.
  • Basic English language skills to write and speak clearly, and effectively with coworkers and customers.
  • Well-organized, accurate, and attentive to detail.
  • Cooperative and willing to assist coworkers and customers on a regular basis.
  • Effective listening skills demonstrated by the ability to listen to others talk (without interruption), understand them, and then propose solutions or make contributions based on the points made by others.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills and be able to function well under pressure.
  • Able to remain composed under pressure and respond to customer and coworker concerns regularly.
  • Keen eye for detail and follow instructions to the letter.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Equivalent work experience in related field preferred.
  • SIE, Series 7 and Series 63 exams required or the successful completion of these exams within 90 days of hire.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess the ability to provide fast, professional, and accurate information.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to consistently meet service level standards and goals.
  • Ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Required annual compliance training, New Employee Orientation, obtain and/or maintain applicable securities licenses (FINRA Series 7, Series 63 and SIE).

Nice To Haves

  • Additional finance computer experience such as Bloomberg is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of all tasks and challenges encountered in the operation of their assigned position.
  • Work with fixed income sales staff and their customers to ensure smooth settlement of investment transactions.
  • Provide support functions including phone backup, trade execution through internal trading desk, account services and security settlement coordination.
  • Perform detail-oriented tasks and provide specialized support for the sales force and customer base.
  • Manage issues arising daily concerning trade activity, market conditions, and customer care.
  • Develop working relationships with trading and operations departments to promote smooth execution and delivery of securities.
  • Identify and implement proper protocol for successful execution of trades.
  • Maintain and encourage means in which to simplify and streamline the needs of the sales force.
  • Accept responsibility of unassigned duties.
  • Provide fast, professional, and accurate information to the sales and trading teams.
  • Research and resolve problems and take corrective action to ensure smooth operations.
  • Develop and maintain quality professional relationships with customers.
  • Serve as a back-up for the sales staff when they are unavailable or out of the office.
  • Answer phones, send faxes/scans, make copies, and all other general office duties.
  • Provide leadership to customers and coworkers through example and the sharing of knowledge and skills.
  • Maintain compliance with MSRB, FINRA, and SEC regulations.
  • Ensure that the Bank’s policies and procedures, code of conduct, and regulatory guidelines are strictly complied with.
