About The Position

The Fixed Income Finance Desk, part of the Market Treasury & Finance business in Markets, is responsible for client financing and firm financing in fixed income securities. The team in New York executes flow and bespoke financing transactions collateralized by spread products (corporate and emerging market bonds). We are looking to hire a Credit/EM financing trader at the VP or AVP level.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience from a top tier bank, hedge fund or money manager
  • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred
  • Working knowledge of fixed income markets, derivatives, financing documentation and regulatory landscape
  • Effective communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to work both independently and effectively within a dynamic and diverse global team of traders based in New York and London
  • Passion to learn and drive growth in the business
  • Exceptional track record of building relationships internally and externally
  • Experience in prime and emerging markets a plus
  • Understanding of Basel 3 RWA; ability to assist with interpretations and optimize transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Credit/EM financing repo book in New York and coordinate with the team in London
  • Coordinate with Spread Products and Prime desks effectively manage risk on transactions
  • Proactively manage trading risk and stay informed on current market conditions, while navigating complex corporate actions like tender offers and restructuring events
  • Work with 1LOD and 2LOD teams to continually improve governance, controls and methodology of Basel 3 LRM framework
  • Develop relationships with clients and formulate capital-efficient financing solutions based on their needs
  • Work closely with internal partners in Sales, Trading and Structuring
  • Network and drive growth by understanding Credit Risk limits/guidelines, Internal Treasury framework, Capital requirements for transactions
  • Drive growth in flow and bespoke transactions
  • Partner with internal control groups to help onboard clients and obtain risk approval
  • Leading strong governance and controls: Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure
  • Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics
  • Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions; demonstrating proper consideration for the firm’s reputation.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures as defined by your role which will be communicated to you
  • Obtain and maintain all registrations/licenses which are required for your role, within the appropriate timeframe
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
