About The Position

Supervises aspects of the accounting department and coordinates the implementation of accounting controls. This role oversees SOX control execution, audit support activities, policy governance, and accounting procedure maintenance. The supervisor will review fixed asset and capital project accounting analyses, including CIP monitoring, depreciation reviews, reconciliations, and journal entries. They will also oversee the preparation and support of external reporting requirements, including property and equipment footnotes, accounting policy disclosures, rollforwards, and management reporting. Additionally, this role provides oversight of acquisitions, divestitures, cross-border transfers, impairments, and other complex or sensitive fixed asset transactions. The supervisor serves as the primary escalation point for asset shell issues, system exceptions, fleet asset matters, and capital project accounting concerns. They will coordinate responses to internal and external audit requests and ensure the adequacy of supporting documentation and control evidence. The role leads process improvement initiatives, automation opportunities, and standardization efforts within fixed asset and project accounting processes. The supervisor partners with Corporate Accounting, External Reporting, Tax, Fleet, Engineering, and Operational teams to ensure consistent application of accounting policies. They organize resources, establish priorities, monitor service levels, and ensure timely completion of deliverables across the COE team. Finally, this role involves training, coaching, developing, and evaluating employees while promoting technical accounting expertise and policy compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, in Accounting, Business Administration or similar area of study, or in lieu of degree High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant work experience.
  • 5 years of previous experience (in addition to education requirement)

Responsibilities
