About The Position

This position is responsible for supporting the Company’s fixed asset accounting processes, ensuring accurate recordkeeping, reporting, and compliance with internal policies and relevant IFRS accounting guidelines. This role assists with maintaining the fixed asset subledger, processing asset additions, disposals, and transfers, completing reconciliations, supporting audits, and preparing financial analysis related to fixed assets and capital expenditures.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate fixed asset records, including acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation activity in accordance with Company policies and IFRS accounting guidelines. Assist with ensuring the fixed asset register is complete and up to date
  • Calculate and record depreciation for fixed assets in accordance with Company policies and accounting standards. Prepare monthly depreciation entries for review and posting to the general ledger
  • Perform routine reconciliations of fixed asset accounts to support accuracy and completeness. Research discrepancies, investigate variances, and provide supporting analysis for review by finance leadership
  • Prepare fixed asset reports and schedules for management, auditors, and internal stakeholders. Communicate identified issues or variances to appropriate finance team members in a timely manner
  • Support compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements, and Company policies related to fixed assets. Assist with audit requests by gathering documentation and preparing supporting schedules
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis to support management review of capital spending, fixed asset activity, and other business needs as assigned
  • Identify opportunities to improve fixed asset processes and data accuracy. Recommend practical improvements and support implementation of approved process changes
  • Assist with periodic physical audits of fixed assets to verify existence, condition, and location. Update records based on audit findings and direction from finance leadership
