About The Position

This role supports the Aspire program, a five-week program for prospective undergraduate students at Berklee. The accompanist will play with a rhythm section, covering a wide variety of musical styles including pop, rock, jazz, Latin, country, R&B, and funk. The program culminates in a short concert performance with the ensemble. The accompanist is expected to be reliable, patient, cooperative, and open to direction and critique from instructors and students, treating students with the same respect as other community members.

Requirements

Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program (exception: summer employment without enrollment requires pre-registration for the upcoming fall semester).
Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA (first-semester students are exempt until completion of their first semester).
Federal Work Study students may apply.
In good disciplinary standing.
Must be located in the U.S.
Ability to sight-read lead sheets and rhythm section charts that have time slashes, chord progressions and additional rhythmic figures.
Reliable, patient, cooperative, and open to taking direction or critique from the instructors/students.
