This position involves performing various fit-up and tacking operations on structural assemblies. The role requires interpreting weld symbols, following weld procedures, and adding components like stiffeners and brackets according to prints. The Fitter will use tools such as clamps, jigs, tape, square, arc air gouger, cutting torch, and plasma, exercising judgment to prevent warping and misalignment. Training to operate a jib crane is required. Responsibilities also include maintaining necessary records, detecting and reporting improper operations or defects, maintaining a clean work area and equipment, adhering to safety rules and quality standards, and performing other duties as assigned. Safety is paramount, and candidates must demonstrate the ability to uphold safety policies and procedures.
