About The Position

A Fitter Welder reads blueprints and weld symbols, lays out and fits stainless steel components, and welds them to precise specifications. The role uses MIG, TIG, or Stick welding, along with fabrication and measuring tools, to produce accurate, high-quality parts. The position requires physical stamina for lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of solid welding experience, specifically with stainless steel.
• Strong proficiency in reading blueprints and weld symbols.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
• Lay out, position, align, and secure stainless steel parts using clamps, jigs, and fixtures.
• Perform MIG, TIG, or Stick welding in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions on stainless steel tubing and components.
• Use grinders, plasma cutters, and other pneumatic or power tools to cut and shape materials.
• Use calipers, tape measures, and gauges to check accuracy.
• Perform visual inspections of fabricated parts for defects.
