About The Position

Nucor Towers & Structures Inc. is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Fitter Welder. This role is a vital part of the facility’s production team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong and consistent work ethic, demonstrate the attention to detail needed to ensure quality products, and exhibit good communication skills to coordinate with other departments. Safety must be at the forefront of each duty performed, and candidates must be able to uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to pass a 3G Weld Test within 30 days of hire.
Ability to operate a crane (Standard Overhead Crane).

Nice To Haves

Manufacturing/production environment experience.
Experience with reading different measuring devices: tape measure, gauges, micrometers.
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Knowledge of weld symbols and weld defects.
Knowledge or utilization of air arc gouging and plasma torch.

Responsibilities

Welding structural steel parts as specified per drawing or print.
Safely produce a quality product.
Maintaining housekeeping.
Obtain and maintain all welding certifications.
Assure the structural components are welded correctly with visual inspection.
Willing to work swing shifts.
Work independently as well as in a group.
Work weekends and holidays as operating conditions require.
Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
