Requirements

Must be able to work safely in a production environment.
Use of hand tools such as tape measure, pneumatic tools and metal cutting equipment required.
High school graduate from an accredited institution or equivalent (GED) with vocational/technical training in welding field/trade.
Candidates with two to five years prior welding and have mechanical experience.
Capable of passing welder qualification test.
Willingness to become certified to operate crane/scissor lift and/or fork lift.
Ability to develop proper welding techniques.
Good communication skills both verbal and written.
Must demonstrate the ability to listen carefully, follow directions accurately, and complete work assignments in a timely manner.
Able to read drawings and schematics.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis.
Able to travel up to 20%.

Nice To Haves

GTWA and GMWA certifications preferred.
Candidates with previous pipe welding experience will be given preference.

Responsibilities

Assemble all phases of power unit construction using a bill of material, arrangement drawing and schematic.
Fit and weld pipe joints and structural assemblies per established welding codes using various welding processes such as GTAW, GMAW, SMAW and FCAW.
Work independently with minimal supervision according to standard shop guidelines.
Maintain a clean work area.
Perform other essential and related peripheral duties as may be assigned.
