Requirements

Must be able to work safely in a production environment.
High school graduate from an accredited institution or equivalent (GED) with vocational/technical training in welding field/trade.
Candidates with one to two years prior welding and have some mechanical experience.
Ability to develop proper welding techniques.
Capable of passing welder qualification test.
Good communication skills both verbal and written. Must demonstrate the ability to listen carefully, follow directions accurately, and complete work assignments in a timely manner.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis.
Able to travel up to 20%.

Nice To Haves

Candidates with previous pipe welding experience will be given preference.
Able to read drawings and schematics preferred.

Responsibilities

Assemble all phases of power unit construction using a bill of material, arrangement drawing and schematic. (Use of hand tools such as tape measure, pneumatic tools and metal cutting equipment required.)
Fit and weld pipe joints and structural assemblies per established welding codes using various welding processes such as GTAW, GMAW, SMAW and FCAW.
Work independently with minimal supervision according to standard shop guidelines.
Maintain a clean work area.
Perform other essential and related peripheral duties as may be assigned.
