About The Position

Kings Engineering, an Australian-owned and operated NSW engineering business founded in 1923, is seeking a Fitter or Plant Mechanic with experience maintaining heavy earthmoving equipment. Based at Rutherford, Kings serves industries including tunneling and infrastructure, mining, rail, transport, construction, and manufacturing.

The successful candidate will support safety and production targets by delivering high-quality, timely maintenance services. The work may involve operating, maintaining, or repairing surface mining equipment, fixed equipment, and assets. The role offers exposure to a wide variety of plant and equipment, support for training and upskilling, and flexible work options intended to support work-life balance. Applicants must be able to evidence their Right To Work in Australia.

Requirements

• Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices.
• Mechanical Trade Certificate (Fitter or Plant Mechanic).
• Experience maintaining heavy earthmoving equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively within and between work teams, with positive interpersonal skills.
• Current valid NSW Driver's Licence.
• Must be able to evidence the Right To Work in Australia.

Nice To Haves

• High Risk WorkCover tickets such as Dogging, Basic Rigging, Forklift, Elevated Work Platform, and Working at Heights training.
• Experience in component rebuild.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, and efficient mechanical maintenance services to customers.
• Achieve required targets with safety as the top priority.
• Provide maintenance and breakdown support for mobile and fixed plant.
• Conduct quality inspections of machinery and document them in accordance with legislative and operational requirements.
• Maintain and repair heavy earthmoving equipment and, where relevant, operate, maintain, or repair surface mining equipment and fixed equipment and assets.
