About The Position

As a Field Service Mechanic at Coates Belmont, you’ll take responsibility for maintaining and repairing Coates equipment directly on customer sites. You’ll work across a variety of industries and equipment types, delivering reliable, high-quality service where it matters most. This is a hands-on, field-based role requiring independence, adaptability and strong customer engagement, along with solid mechanical and electrical capability.

Requirements

Relevant trade qualification
Experience with petrol and diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability (electrical focus highly regarded)
Effective time management and ability to work independently in the field
Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset
Your own tools
Valid driver’s licence (MR/HR preferred)

Nice To Haves

Forklift and EWP tickets (beneficial)
Experience in the hire industry is highly regarded but not essential.

Responsibilities

Perform safe, effective and efficient preventative maintenance, reactive servicing and overhauls on customer sites
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across a variety of equipment on site – work on large earthmoving, generators, lighting plants and boom lifts.
Build strong customer relationships, delivering trusted, professional service that reinforces Coates as the supplier of choice
Ensure stock levels of spare parts are available to undertake any repair on site.
Collaborate with other mechanics & wider branch teams to manage workload effectively
