About The Position

Our Highways team is committed to delivering a high-quality road network across the region. By ensuring our highways are safe, well-maintained, and fit for purpose, we help make Central Bedfordshire a great place to live and work. As a Highways Inspector, you will play a vital role in achieving this vision. You will be responsible for ensuring the network remains safe and serviceable for residents and businesses by carrying out planned inspections, identifying defects, and raising task orders for repairs. You will also build strong relationships by liaising with town and parish councils, local councillors, and other stakeholders, assessing highway issues and responding effectively. In addition, you will help identify and deliver improvement works that enhance the overall network. This is a role where you can make a real difference providing local people with an outstanding highway network and helping to unlock the full potential of the area to enable you to find your greatness. Across Central Bedfordshire, thousands of residents, businesses and visitors use our roads every day. You’ll make sure they get a good experience, whether they’re walking, driving or cycling. The first step is to be responsible for what is happening on the highway network in your area. You’ll be the primary point of contact for elected members and town and parish councils for your area.
