About The Position
LifeWorks of Southwest General is a state-of-the-art health and fitness center owned and operated by Southwest General Health Center. They offer services such as fitness assessments, personal training, group classes, and aquatic exercise in their junior size Olympic 6-lane lap pool or their warm water therapy pool. The Fitness Specialist provides professional customer service to members by conducting screenings, fitness assessments, and exercise prescriptions, while also proactively circulating the fitness floor. Maintaining a clean and safe environment is also a priority.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree program for exercise physiology or related field required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience at a fitness facility required.
- Competent knowledge of exercise principles, fitness testing, health risk and fitness program design is essential to success.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, computer and organizational skills are also required.
- CPR certification required.
- Personal training certification with one of the following agencies is required and may be obtained within 6 months of hire: ACE, NSCA, NATA, NASM, AFAA, ISSA, IFPA, NCSF, NFPT, ACSM
